The Lion King is a stage musical with music by Elton John, lyrics by Tim Rice, and a book by Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi, with additional music and lyrics by Lebo M, Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, Julie Taymor, and Hans Zimmer. It is based on the 1994 Walt Disney Animation Studios' film of the same name.[1] Directed by Taymor, the musical features actors in animal costumes as well as giant, hollow puppets. The show is produced by Disney Theatrical Productions.
The musical debuted on July 8, 1997, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the Orpheum Theatre and was successful before premiering on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre on October 15, 1997, in previews, with the official opening on November 13, 1997. On June 13, 2006, to make way for the Broadway production of Mary Poppins, the show moved to the Minskoff Theatre, where it is still running after more than 10,000 performances. It is Broadway's third longest-running show in history, and has grossed more than $1 billion, making it the highest grossing Broadway production of all time.

Abby Barnaby (Young Simba, Simba) is 8 years old and attends Rancho Sienna Elementary School. She loves being a part of PPC Kids and is thrilled to be performing the role of Simbal Her past shows have included Jungle Book Kids and Frozen Jr, as well as camp shows including Aladdin Kids. In her spare time, she loves climbing trees, drawing, learning piano, cooking, playing Barbies and snuggling her puppy.
Adelyn Re (Lioness, Trickster, Hyena, Ensemble) is delighted to be performing in her first production with The Georgetown Palace Theatre. She is a student at Rancho Sienna Elementary and enjoys learning about the earth, moon and other planets.
Her favorite hobbies are impromptu dance parties with her sister, Sienna, and watching Tic ac Toy on YouTube Kids.
Charlotte Randall (Ed) is 9 years old. She is ready to make everyone laugh in the role of Ed! A regular at acting classes and camps for the last serveral years, she has loved everyone minute of it. Charlotte loves singing, cooking soup, and being the only sister with four brothers. She also wants to host her own cooking show one day. Charlotte's favorite place is anywhere she is snuggled up with her poodle, Lovey.
Chloe Morrison (Scar) is a member of the PPC Kids. She lives in Round Rock, Texas and goes to Old Town Elementary. She is in 3rd grade and lives with her mother, father, sister, 2 cats, and her dog. She would like to thank her cat, Cooper, for helping her practice her lines.
Delanie Pennington (Lioness, Trickster, Hyena, Ensemble) danced with Metamorphosis Dance Ensemble for two years. She started her training with The Georgetown Palace Education Department last spring semester. Since, she has fallen in love with the theatre.
Ella Norris (Shenzi) is a member of PPC Kids and this is her second show performing with them. She's excited to be playing the part of Shenzi. Ella attends Goodwater Montessori, loves the color pink, has two dogs and a cat and a younger brother that likes to cheer her on from the audience. She loves the movie
"La La Land" and her favorite subject is recess.
Emily McEntire (Banzai) is 8 years old and a 3rd grader at McCoy Elementary School. Emily loves dancing, acting, shopping, reading. and hunting. Emily loves being a part of PPC Kids as well as being on two dance teams.
Emma Vinante (Young Nald, Nala) turned 11 recently, and this is her 10th play at the Palace (because it's the bestll and she's super excited for this one. Emma wants to give the biggest thanks to Doug Smith and all the other wonderful people who make this possible. She would also like to thank her parents for all the support they have given her, and her brother and acting partner, Alex. Émma also has another wonderful brother, Ethan, and the best dog ever, Stella. On with the showl!
Grayson Terry (Pumba) is 9 years old and a 4th grader at Wolf Ranch Elementary School. Grayson loves being a part of PPC Kids and performing in the shows. His favorite past roles include Hans in Frozen Jr. and King Louis in The Book KIDS. performing, he enjoys playing video games and Grayson is not flag football.
Harper Sampson (Zazu) is a 9-year-old third grader at Riojas Elementary School starring in her second production at The Palace. Playing Zazu this spring, she was most recently Olaf in Frozen Jr. at The Palace and previously the Greater Austin Dance Academy productions of Annie and Aristocats. In her free time, she enjoys playing piano, swimming and entertaining her Yorkipoo, Max.
Naomi Salinas (Sarabi) has had so much fun in her first show. Naomi is nine years old, in third grade and the fourth of six siblings. She enjoys piano, violin and gymnastics in addition to singing and dancing.
Natalie Robbe (Timone) is thrilled to be performing in this production of Disney's The Lion King KIDS She is a third grader at Herrington Elementary and a member of the Palace Performance Company Kids. Favorite past roles include Kaa the snake in The Jungle Book Kids and Roquefort in The Aristocats KIDS. She hopes you enjoy the show
