Newsies The Musical is a musical based on the 1992 musical film Newsies, which was inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City. The show has music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman, and a book by Harvey Fierstein based on the film's screenplay by Bob Tzudiker and Noni White.
The musical premiered at the Paper Mill Playhouse in 2011 and made its Broadway debut in 2012, where it played for more than 1,000 performances before touring.

Alexandra Beaver (Seitz, Darcy, Governor Roosevelt) is 12 years old. This will be her second production and she is so excited! She has had a lot of fun learning her lines, singing the songs, blocking the scenes, and practicing the dances. She hopes you enjoy the show.
Aubrey Brand (Muriel, Ada) is 12 years old, and has been performing at the Palace since she was six. She loves to dance jazz and contemporary. She also loves music and all things theater! She wants to thank her family for being so supportive throughout her journey.
She has had a blast working on this performance, and she hopes it isn't her last!
Blair Risinger (Les) is excited to perform in her first production with the Juniors cast. She is 10 years old and has performed in five productions to date since the age of five, ending her journey with the PPC KIDS last spring performing as Cruella de Ville in 101 Dalmatians KIDS.
She is now a Junior member of the PPC and loves writing songs and plays.
Braxton Bragg (Morris Delancey, Manhattan Newsie) is excited to be in his fourth production at the Palace. He was previously in Goal!, Space Pirates, and Frozen JR. In his free time, Braxton enjoys gaming with his friends (especially Minecraft). He also enjoys sitting in his room and not paying taxes.
Caeley Hardy (Katherine) is excited to be performing in her second production with the Georgetown Palace. Her first production was Annie JR where she played Grace.
Newsies has been her favorite musical for a while and she is so excited to be in a production of the show!
Carlie Miller (Bunsen, Scab, Police Officer is in the seventh grade. This is her second play, her first was Beauty and the Beast JR, here at the Georgetown Palace Theatre!
She loves to sew and is so thankful to her Mom and Dad for supporting her throughout her journey of acting. She hopes you enjoy the play!
Clemente Torres (Jack) is a* student at Hutto Middle School and currently in sixth grade. He loves taking acting classes. Born in Hutto of a Puerto Rican father and a Mexican mother, Clemente was named after baseball hall of famer, Roberto Clemente. He is passionate about acting and paying on his computer. When he is not studying, you'll find him riding his bicycle or playing with his friends.
Daryana Dumitriu (Race) is 13 years old, and goes to Florence W. Stiles Middle School. This is her third show with Palace, and is excited for many more. She holds the University Interscholastic League award of All-Star Cast, and recently has been part of a one-act play competition.
Daryana is also in her school's Advanced Theater class. She loves playing Race, as she can relate to the character, she loves a good sense of humor. Daryana is passionate about acting, and is excited for the next show with the Palace Performance Company, where she is a Junior Member.
Edin Darby (Medda Larkin, Police Officer, Newsie) is very excited to be performing as Medda in Newsies JR!
Edin is a proud member of the Junior Palace Performance Company and loves all her teachers at the Palace. Edin would like to thank her loud, screaming, entitled cat, Squirrel, for his support.
Elizabeth Pinkley (Hannah, Dorothy, Scab) 7th grade student at Benold Middle School where she participates in both theater and dance. She loves performing, painting, and her Pitbull, Barbie.
Emma Vinante (Hazel, Ethel) is 12 years old and in 7th grade. She loves to edit videos, pet her dog, bake (and eat) brownies, watch musicals, and of course, ACT! This is her 20th musical at the Palace and her 3rd year as part of PPC.
Emma would like to thank her entire family for being so supportive and loving, but especially her mom for driving her to rehearsal every day. Newsies has a very special place in her heart. She loved watching it even before she was in it, and it certainly doesn't disappoint.
Learning the show has truly been a magical experience and she can't wait to go out there and show it to you! So, lastly, she thanks the people behind the scenes who made this all possible! On with the show!
Emory Conelius (Joseph Pulitzer, Polce chief, Bronx Nesie) has been acting since she was six years old. This is her first year as a member of the Palace Performance Company. She is a seventh grader at Forbes Middle School where she is active in Theatre, NJHS and Track & Field. Emory also enjoys being a Cadette in Girl Scouts.
Lyndsay Bobo (Wiesel, Customer, Pat, Richmond Newsie) enjoys acting and dancing. She also enjoys rainy weather. She loves animals.
Morgan Garcia (Albert) is excited to be in her third production with The Palace. She has played Mr. Warbucks in Annie KIDS and Anita in 101 Dalmatians KIDS.
Morgan also loves taking dance classes. She is in the 5th grade and lives with her parents, brother, and dog in Round Rock.
Olivia Katzman (Pigtails, Ada) is an 11 year old girl, this is her 2nd year with the Palace. Performance Company, and her 8th play! She has two dogs, Herky and Rambo, and wants to give a shout out to her little sister, Lexi.
She is very excited to be a part of the Newsies JR cast and loves how hard everyone works. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Paige Tingey (Crutchie) is thrilled to be participating in the Georgetown Palace Theater's performance of Newsies JR.
Paige is a 5th grader at Rancho Sienna Elementary School where she enjoys music and math. This is Paige's fourth show at the Georgetown Palace Theater and she looks forward to many more in the future.
Paige wishes to thank her family and friends for all their support.
Rafael Silva (Davey) is a sixth grader at Chisholm Trail Middle School in Round Rock. This is his first year as a member of the Junior Division of the Palace Performance Company.
Rafael is supported by his family that is formed by his parents, amazing sister and adorable dog, Molly.
Rowan Haskell (Specs, Spot Conlon) is a fifth grader at Whitestone Elementary School. She wakes up singing almost every day, loves her family and her cats, plays guitar and soccer, enjoys math and coding, collects and feeds lizards from her yard, wants a dog and relishes a good joke or pun - especially if she came up with it! This is Rowan's first Fall production after three madcap summer camp productions with Georgetown Palace Education.
Rowan has been thrilled to experience more rehearsal time and character development in this production of Newsies Jr. and is loving this opportunity to perform!
Sarah Monty (Snyder, Bill, Woodside Newsie) is 11 years old and obsessed with dragons, Minecraft, Roblox, and Warriorcats. She also enjoys playing board games and joking around with her friends and parents.
She is adopted and has a lot of family living in Texas. She likes to read many different fiction books. Sarah is in fifth grade at Gateway College Prep. Enjoy the show!
Tucker Castaneda (Oscar Delancey, Flushing Newsie) was just recently a member of the Lollipop Guild in The Wizard of Oz. He has been performing with the Georgetown Palace Education program for over 5 years. Tucker is in fifth grade at Igo Elementary.
He's been around theatre his whole life because his mama works here. He has a younger brother named Parker, too.
